* springfling is chugging along

* [livejournal.com profile] cherie_morte is calling us all to leave a comment today. And possibly also to mention what fanwork you commented on so others can view/comment, too!

* In that vein, today I commented on I might need you by [livejournal.com profile] signe_chan, which is the first Castiel/Garth fic I've ever seen. Castiel is a bit of a lost puppy in it, and Garth kind.

* There's been a lot of good discussion in my post about anonmemes, and one thing realization I've been having more clearly is how because an anon meme (or any similarly structured thing) is a neutral, communal space, I feel much less pressure interacting there. If I wrote a big meta post about whatever and posted it here, I'd then feel the need to interact with people about it; I'd be playing hostess to some extent. (This is because I'm mostly committed to answering every top-level comment made by anyone in my journal, but that's another issue.) On a comment meme, I don't; I can drop in and out as I please. And if it's anon, no one will even know who dropped in for one random comment and went away again! I am ninja commenter! So on the whole it requires much less energy than here.

(That said, please don't take away from this that I would rather people wouldn't comment on my LJ! Please do! It's just sometimes I choose not to post specifically because I can't deal with that social burden that day, especially if it's a meaty topic that'd need a lot of curating and engaging with.)

* I am amused that my Abaddon fic, written shortly after her first episode, is now pulling in new kudos. It's the very first Abaddon fic on AO3, after all!

* I'm still playing Fallen London. Possibly the most exciting thing that's happened to me all week was that I made quite a momentous discovery re: the identity of my main source of information for my Ambition (which is to bag a vake, aka Search for Flying Megafauna).

* The internet followed me into RL this week, although alas I do not have photographic evidence of it. There was a brief art installation at school this week, a big chalkboard on which people were supposed to write something they wanted to do before they died. Most things are about what you'd expect: "to marry X," "to run a bakery," "to eat a girl out." And then someone said, "to be Tumblr famous" and helpfully provided their Tumblr. And next to that, someone else wrote, "to see Destiel go canon."

YOU GUYS. RL MAKE-DESTIEL-CANON SHIPPERS.

* I watched the first three episodes of The Hour the other day (and am waiting for the second half of S1 to come from Netflix here soon). I like it! It's very stylish. I love Lyx, I mostly quite like Bel, and Freddie's an ass but also exactly the dark-haired, skinny, sensitive, brainy type I have such a weakness for. I was moderately grumpy about the disparity in activity in Freddie's and Bel's respective storylines in 1.03, and I can't say I like that particular element of Bel's plot at all, but otherwise I am well pleased.
