Marvel explodes the Internet

Says here that we're getting:
* a Captain Marvel movie (FINALLY)
* a Black Panther movie (FINALLY)
* two Avengers 3 movies (cha-ching)
* Captain America 3: Civil War (...it could be good. No, it could be, if it follows the comics continuity the way PotC: On Stranger Tides followed the Tim Powers novel. Which is say, by stealing the title and ditching EVERYTHING ELSE)

And, uh, some other stuff. I dunno. *flails feebly*

I still would have preferred a Black Widow movie, but I'm excited to see a superhero film led by a woman.

Captain Marvel movie? YAY. :D

All this time I had no idea the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were based on books. I always thought they were inspired vaguely by the ride at Disneyland and otherwise made up out of whole cloth.

Oh, no, the PotC movies are vaguely inspired by the Disneyland ride. However, the fourth movie also involved Disney optioning a novel (which I happened to have already read). However, the only resemblance was the title and the inclusion of a couple of elements - Blackbeard, the Fountain of Youth - which were completely remixed.
