* I will never stop being charmed that the whole team calls Fleury 'Flower.' FLOWER. And Beau Bennett is Sunshine, I am not even kidding. Hockey is a super serious, super tough sport, yo. (It is not a super serious sport.)

* Speaking of Flower, tonight was not as good as the two shutouts, but we will take it. And hey, 145 minutes of playing time without getting scored on is nothing to sneeze at. He set a Penguins record there. Even tonight, his save percentage was still better than Lundqvist, who is statistically a better goalie and considered one of the best in the league. Not in this playoff series, though. Lundqvist's defense is not backing him up.

* This was more a story of Rangers losing than Penguins winning, but again, we will take it. We did apply a lot more pressure than most of last game, where we pretty much sat back with our two goals and let Flower save our bacon. Geno had a great no-look goal this time, and we got a short-handed goal off a Rangers power play, too.

* Geno had a pretty great game in general. A goal, an assist, he was racing down the ice on the ice and making things happen all game, and he had thirteen (!) shot attempts. Yay, Geno.

* Brian Gibbons has been distinguishing himself, too. He is our representative tiny-but-speedy player, and he did a lot of speeding tonight, including a setup for another one of those goals.

* Orpik back after missing five games for an injury, only to go out again in the first period on a completely unrelated injury. Bummer.

* Letang looks really, really good out there for a guy who had a stroke four months ago. Letang looks good out there, period. Except for his hair; that's pretty unfortunate.

He had a stroke, damn! also it's kind of fascinating to read you talk about hokey and no I've no idea what you're talking about, but ;D I am tempted give it a try and considering we are far way South for hokey to be a thing... you're doing pretty good! (:

btw do you still want an icon, like I could try and make you one, but since I don't know anything about that sport you might want to be pretty specific of what you want... and if you don't like it n the end ::shrug:: it'd not a big deal.

Ha ha, I'm glad you're enjoying the posts! If I lured you into watching a game, then that would just all part of my nefarious plan bonus! :) And the south is not completely without teams - there are two in Florida, and there's also the Hurricanes and Nashville.

Aw, thank you so much for the icon offer! I don't even know what I'd want, so I think I'm just going to keep browsing for now, and maybe one will jump out at me. I appreciate the offer, though. <3

Nooo :) I'm talking south as in Southeast Europe. Why I did not clarify that is beyond me, sorry! (:

I could always icon your team, parts of it, a person or smth ::shrugs:: or I could at least try :) and leave it at that. if you change your mind I'm right here ;) it'll be my please really because iconing things no one wanted to icon is the reason I learned to do it ( no matter how bad) in the first pace. :)

Geno's gooooaaaalllllll was so pretty. The Crosby-Malkin-Kunitz line was a Thing Of Beauty. Like they seriously make it look so good.

Gibbons was so speedy! And Sutter's goal was SO SWEET!

I like that I'm starting to pick out players' style. And I like that I get to see things like this:

How weird to be following a sport instead of a show right now.

AHA. This confirms my previous suspicions, which is that you are actually watching games now. :DDD

The Crosby-Malkin-Kunitz line is pretty great. Crosby and Malkin are sometimes called the Two-Headed Monster, although I'm not sure where that leave Kunitz...

That gif also nicely illustrates how hockey is a graceful and dignified sport at all times. Not. "I'm just going to swing my stick behind me by hunching up like a seal." :D

Edit, aaannd, let's put this reply where it's supposed to go, sorry.

See, I was defense on my field hockey team in high school and while I did not flop around on the ground like a seal (it doesn't work as well on grass) there were times when I managed to stop the ball with really stupid looking moves like this one and they are the best. So I have a soft spot for the d-line.

I am watching pieces of games. They are 1 )stressful and 2) time-consuming so I can't do the whole thing, but I was linked to a good stream so. It's just so EASY.

Two-headed monster! There's a gif set I've seen of them being scary in sync. Where is it. Here it is. I think hockey has really sucked me in because of my competency kink. And I just really like watching/reading about people being so good at what they do. :)

Ahh, in that case you probably know way more about, like, the flow of hockey than I do. You have experience!

Games definitely take up time. I have given up all hope of watching any television until after the Pens' season is over; I haven't the time or mental energy to be interested in both.

I am so PLEASED with these developments. :D
