First,
downjune wrote Cable Knit, which is Pacific Rim Mako/Raleigh hookerfic. Yes. Raleigh finds another way to get by after his brother dies, and Mako's the one who goes to get him back.
I love the dynamic here so much, especially downjune's Mako - smart and precise and careful and caring. Highly recommended.
Meanwhile, we have this nifty Abaddon artwork by
odysseaia. I really like the use of color in this piece.

Date: 2013-07-27 06:09 pm (UTC)One real challenge of that movie was illustrating how the pilots worked together in the Jaeger in the Drift I guess they kind of had to have Raleigh be so noisy because otherwise, you'd have entire fight sequences without dialog. They'd never need to talk to each other and yeah we could get some pretty stellar moves, but it'd be rough. Raleigh's narration gave those sequences brash bombast. Which was just kind of fun and self-aware I thought.
And that was a random aside from something your reblogged on tumblr about getting more cockpit harness time.

Ha ha, excellent point. Somewhere I saw conversation about how silly it was that Raleigh kept talking when she could hear his thoughts, but that is an excellent Doylist reason for it. :D
