lo, a post of random
Sep. 16th, 2012 11:13 am1. Sign-ups are open over at
spn_j2_xmas. Do I have room for one more exchange? Do I? Erg.
2. It occurs to me that much as I love the spirit of SPN RPF fandom, possibly there are other fandoms that better combine the wonderful crack (mermen! dragons! empaths! were-echidnas! although I'm still waiting on that last one) with the unsquicky rom-commy het I yearn for. Any recommendations? Preferably a Western fandom with either a fair bit of activity or a fair backlog of fic. (I suppose I ought to go hunt up some Marvel movieverse fic, hadn't I? But where does one even start? And is there enough het crack to make it worth my while?)
3. As soon as I post my epic list of A/B/O, of course I find something I'd have put on it. Specifically, No Limited Dimensions, by
cleflink, in which John Watson is shot and wakes up in a world of omegas and alphas and other things he doesn't understand at all. It's gen, and it's GLORIOUS.

Date: 2012-09-16 07:22 pm (UTC)Also GAH, EXCHANGE! I want to sign up, but my time is going to be severely limited starting at the beginning of October. Once I get my present 2 challenges done and out of the way, I need to stick my nose to the RL grindstone.

I want to sign up, toooooo, but I'm thinking maybe I should take the holiday season off from fannish commitments.

Date: 2012-09-16 07:40 pm (UTC)Last year I did that, and I spent the time I wasn't going RL crazy working on fics that I wanted/needed to finish and getting a head start on my big bangs. I definitely benefited once big bang season hit and I had zero time to write anything on any sort of regular basis.

Date: 2012-09-16 08:47 pm (UTC)That said, I'll rec on memes and things like spnstoryfinders, if I happen to like a fic of a sort that someone else is looking for.

Date: 2012-09-16 08:55 pm (UTC)Ha ha. Yeah, I keep a running list of things I want to rec whenever I next do a recs post, but if it's for a fandom I don't read in much or just stumbled across, then I'll just post it separate. Or sometimes if I REALLY LOVE SOMETHING A LOT and have to tell everyone RIGHT NOW, I'll do an instarec instead of saving it for the recs post. But I don't like doing that, because then I can't decide if I should include it in the regular recs post or not. Dilemma!

*nod* I do very much like linking people to exactly what they're looking for. I always check into the new f_fa post for that, even if for no other reason, because they have a "fic recs" thread in the beginning of every post.
