Y'all, some anonymous person has written me Weather for spn_summergen. It's Sam and Dean sometime post-S7, snowed in at a little hotel, still reeling from the aftermath of everything and stumbling towards some kind of resolution.

And you guys, the writing here is good. It's really, really good. The fic is full of wonderful concrete detail, and the emotion is always close to the surface but not too close. And the characterization, my heavens, it's perfect. These are my Sam and Dean.

It's all the good things. Go read.

Two months and three weeks till SPN7 is out here. By which time, obvs, I will be madly avoiding s8 spoilers.

I also still haven't watched s6e22 for some reason that makes no sense.

Awww! Soon and very soon! I think not watching 6.22 is probably a good choice, though. You don't really want to watch it without having 7.01 to watch immediately thereafter.

That was a pretty fantastic story. I loved that damaged version of Dean. Such a plausible thing to have happen to him. And Sam and his scrabble game. Such a normal, nice evening to have.

Yeah, the fic did a great job of grounding the extreme trauma of their lives with a very ordinary setting. Poor boys. :(
