So I'm talking to this friend who occasionally checks in here at the fannish blog. She isn't fannish herself, but she does read the TV reviews and my fanfic.

Our conversation goes thusly:

FRIEND: So what is SPN RPF?

ME: Well, 'SPN' is Supernatural and 'RPF' means Real People Fiction.

FRIEND: Oh, Real People Fiction. Huh. I would not have guessed.

ME: <considers the RPF I've posted>

ME: Ah. I, uh, guess I can see how you wouldn't.

But hey, everyone has all their limbs and all their senses, no one was abused as a child, and no one has asthma or diabetes. No one has even died! I'm much nicer to them than a lot of people are to, say, Sam and Dean.
