Dear Rarewomen Author
Jan. 26th, 2012 08:15 pmDear Author, I am so excited you're going to write me something yummy for the women in one of my beloved fandoms! If you've been matched with me, then I already know you have excellent taste, and this bodes well. :)
General Fic Likes/Dislikes
Likes: When it comes to shippiness, het is nearly always my choice, but I love gen, too. I'm not much for porn - I often end up reading around it to get to the good parts - but otherwise all genres are open: character studies and crack, fill-in-the-blanks and five-things fic, angst and darkfic and schmoop, epic adventures and fics where the characters do nothing but stand around and banter. I have a particular weakness for unlikely alliance stories, hurt/comfort (especially the emotional kind), quiet conversations in between the "real events," post-apocalyptic scenarios, and mpreg.
Squicks: Torture involving eyes, teeth, or hands; heavy power imbalances in sexual/romantic relationships. Most all my other squicks fall under the porn umbrella, so as long as you're not writing that then I'll remain happily unsquicked.
I don't have much to say about my individual fandoms other than what's in the sign-up, so I've just copied that here for reference.
Large Fandom: SPN RPF
Women: Genevieve Cortese-Padalecki, Alona Tal, Adrianne Palicki, Sam Ferris, Cindy Sampson
Optional Details: If you’re familiar with this fandom, then you know it is full of CRACK. I would like some, please! Gen/Jared’s my OTP, but otherwise I’d like genfic (although background pairings are fine). Gen and Adrianne the crimefighting horticulturist BFFs, epic Gen/Jared space adventures, silly rom-commy sensible!Gen/beached!merman!Jared fluff, a Pern fusion – the sky’s the limit.
Fandom 2 (small): Downton Abbey
Women: Mary Crawley
Optional Details: MAAAARY. I love her dearly, and I love her with pretty much everyone (except Sir Richard Carlisle). Romantically, I ship Mary/Matthew, but I think I ship Mary+Lavinia friendship even harder. Sprawling lady adventures would be fabulous, as would Boston marriage fic. Write me a character study or a missing scene with Lady Violet or an AU (cracky or otherwise) or Five Improper Conversations Mary Had With Servants. Seriously, write me Mary and I will love you.
Fandom 3 (large): Supernatural
Women: Ruby, Anna Milton, Pamela Barnes, Ellen Harvelle, Kat (from Asylum)
Optional Details: These are all excellent SPN women that I like, and I would be happy with something about any or all of them. Gen or het, please. Some ideas: Ruby+Anna, demon and angel, riding in the back of the Impala – what do they find to talk about? What if Ruby survived the end of S4 and was redeemable? (I would not oppose a Sam/Ruby bent here.) What if Kat went off and became a hunter? What if Ellen hooked up with Dean one time, and it became a habit? What if Pamela ran into any of the other SPN women? I love pretty much everyone on this show, so feel free to throw in Sam or Dean or Cas or whoever as you see fit.
Thank you so much, author! I very much look forward to reading what you write.
