Demons have offspring? Better yet, they have gendered offspring? Who then possess humans with matching genders? That is... very strange. Or else the demon was speaking metaphorically, which I'd also be willing to buy.

And what is it with all these white nightgowns, anyway? How many women out there wear ankle-length white nightgowns? 'Cuz I'd have guessed Jess, at least, wore something a little more exciting to bed.

(Actually, I'm pretty sure the nightgowns are another case of white=innocence, lamb-to-the-slaughter imagery, which might be less lame if it made sense at all from a real world standpoint. Fie on logic-defying, artificially-imposed symbolism. Fie!)

I have no idea what was going on from a worldbuilding POV in S1, but based on what we know later, I'm going to fanwank that they were speaking metaphorically.

I can't keep track. This show is not too careful about where it pulls its flashbacks from - it keeps showing us that scene with Sam at Jess's grave, except that was his nightmare.
