Actually, I'd be up for SPN/other crossovers, too, so long as the other canon is something I'm marginally familiar with. I was dreaming of an SPN/VM crossover the other day.

I wrote one! Kinda. I never name the crossover character (guess who it is, lol), but diamondtook862 said it was a wee bit disorientating to read my fic and then see his first appearance onscreen, so you might wanna hold off. Hell, you might wanna avoid reading it AT ALL. :D

I know there are some Faith/Dean ones out there. One's on my "to read" list; I can vet it for you. :p

I've seen Faith/Dean stuff in my flist before, although honestly it's not a pairing that sounds very appealing to me. However, I'm flexible (ie desperate; my next disk comes on Wednesday *g*).

I found it. It's one of FayJay's. Of course, then I bothered to read all the warnings and there's a Winchester/Faith sandwich. Not sure I want to read that. :/

I'd check out femmenerd's Faith/Dean tag. The fanmix is a great long one (you'll see it if you scroll). Although it's styled like one, it's not a songfic (i.e. I'm not into songfic but I'm into this). My guess is it's non-spoilery 'cause I never watched SPN and yet I understood everything in this. It's totally shippy--er, Faith/Dean--and totally awesome.

I gave a terrifyingly enthusiastic welcome to dipenates fic So many bright lights to cast a shadow when it came out. Faith/unnamed Dean. It's NC17 but fairly restrained and plenty to read around it. I only hesitate to rec because it does introduce a s3 character - but you find out about as much on who she is as you do in her first episode so I wouldn't call it significantly spoilery.

Wherever I roam also has Faith and Winchesters. Also NC17 at some points, but heaps of crossover fun. Maybe leave it till later in season one, but it will be safe to read pretty soon.

I can't think why Faith keeps turning up in the crossovers...

Dean and Faith are two fun characters that are easy to pit against each other, methinks.

I recall stumbling across a gen fic wherein Dean met Spuffy, but I wasn't terribly impressed with it. I think I read a vamp!Dean vs. Buffy one, too, but I can't recall anything but how it ended.

I'd noticed that most crossovers I saw seemed to be Faith/Dean. I'm not really inclined to ship Faith with someone who's so much like her; I'd be a lot more interested in, say Winchesters + Buffy or Winchesters + Dawn.

That said, I just read the Faith/Dean fic lettered recced above and it was gorgeous. So.

Anyway, thanks for the recs! I will definitely be checking those out as I'm allowed. :)

You probably read the recently posted "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" by hezio2, a gen tale of what might've happened after BtVS S2 if Buffy had run into the younger Winchesters in LA. It's basically a crossover retelling of Anne, but there's some nice characterizations and no actual spoilers (though some foreshadowing that almost amounts to it, but nothing major).

I also heartily second the dipenates rec, though I can't remember how explicit it gets. I don't think it is, especially, but we are talking Faith/Dean, so...

I have a bunch of later-season ones, but then you're getting into spoilery waters.

It's not a pairing I find too exciting. Where would be the conflict? Dawn would fit Sam's type, though ...

I think a story where Sam came to Sunnydale instead of Riley would be great fun (Sam wouldn't work for the Initiative, though, since he'd be trying to escape that life). He's tall and hulking enough for Buffy!

I found a Sam/Willow fic once. I kinda liked the idea, though the fic itself was not astounding, and trying to figure out how that timeline worked kinda broke my brain. Willow & Sam friendship might be nice.

Really, though, I'm always fairly hesitant about crossover shippiness. It just feels forced, when you're trying to moosh together two characters that not only have never met, but also come (literally and figuratively) from entirely separate worlds and backgrounds. What I reeeeally want is big epic crossover genfic in which the boys and some of our Scoobs fight monsters and share war stories and maybe do some one-upping, but in a balanced, mostly friendly way. (I do not want fics that heavily skew towards one show's mythology so as to show up the other show's characters.)

Also, I need a fic where pool-hustling Dean meets pool-hustling Spike, preferably fairly late in Spike's redemption arc. 'Cuz that would be just too much fun.

This was something that I was actually very, very careful about with my crossover, even though it was just pie!crack and was definitely a Buffy fic with a crossover element, rather than a true crossover b/t universes. Still, I wanted both universes held equally true.

This is probably why I like fusions was better than crossovers, most of the time.
