I figured we'd have to see something like this at some point. A bit predictable in structure.

Glad to see Gaeta didn't die for his 'crimes.' I've had a soft spot for him since long before he got any kind of personal story. Sorry to see Tyrol (or Sam, or Kara, for that matter) involved in the the whole almost-private war crimes tribunal.

See, I was right about Kara and the fallout, but am glad she, ah, chose life at the end. I am very glad to see her pull her herself together; I wasn't sure she could do it.

Torn/A Measure of Salvation
I've been getting a huge kick out of seeing inside the Cylon base ship. The hybrid hits my cyborg/sentient-ship kink like whoa, and am I interested in these final five Cylon models? JUST SLIGHTLY. I don't even care particularly that probably we have examples of all of them on Galactica (and I'm pretty sure I've been spoilered for one those); I'm just intrigued by the fact that they're cut off from the others and no one talks about them. Sounds like there's some seriously painful history there, and I wants it!

Which may explain how Gaius could be a Cylon. If 'our' seven Cylon models don't know what the other five look like, well, that blows all my certainty about Gaius out of the water. And yeah, this whole projection thing is a bit suspicious. Hallucination!Six is an angel from God? What? Of course she'd say that, but...

Given the fact that visions apparently give foreknowledge in this universe, I'd accept that Hallucination!Six is in fact some kind of messenger of a divine (or possibly, in the typical SF parlance, 'ascended') being. Just so long as the writers are willing to grapple with the consequences of the introducing the supernatural into their SF.

One would then conclude that the Gaius in Caprica!Six's head is also an angel from God, then.

As for this whole biological weapons issue... I see where Helo's coming from, but (shock, horror) I'm siding with Lee on this one. The Cylons tried to exterminate our race, and they show no signs of stopping any time soon. Their technology is far more advanced than ours, and in terms of weapons available they have us beat by miles. The writers throw the phrase 'biological weapons' around as if it were somehow analogous to real-world atrocity (just as we threw the phrase 'suicide bombing' around a few eps ago), but there is no real-world analogy to the Cylons. If the choice is kill them all or keep running, well. Doesn't seem like a difficult choice to me (although it makes sense that Helo would have a stake in believing the other way).

All that said, could I love Helo, Sharon, and Helo/Sharon more than I do here? I think not. She's in this all the way, and they are holding onto each other so hard. "I did what I thought was right, and if that's a mistake, then I can live with that. The one thing I can't live without is you." In other couples I'd call that pure sap, but here, considering what it took to get them here and keep them here, I can't resent it.

Collaborators was a bit icky, but I always got a kick out of Kara and Tigh suddenly being BFFs because of New Caprica fallout.

It's true. Although, the show has been pushing the Kara/Tigh parallels for a while now - since "Scar," at the very least.

I am very glad to see her pull her herself together; I wasn't sure she could do it.

I'm not real sure she actually recovered though. It seems as though she stopped her bad behaviour at positive punishment from father figure Bill; but she deliberately buried her trauma, just like she buried her trauma from childhood. :\

I sort of agree with both Lee and Helo. I mean, I intellectually side with Lee, and can't fault ruthless pragmatism, but I do sympathise with Helo's emotional dilemma.

Given that this is this show, you're probably right. It's just too easy. But even just seeing her functioning a little better in the short term is a relief.

I agree; both Lee and Helo have good points, and I can definitely see where they're both coming from emotionally.
