See what I mean? The girl has a special talent for showing up at a show's lowest (BtVS S4, Ats S1, Ats S4, BtVS S7) and just sparking the thing to life. She's a force of nature, she is.
Aw, Connor's a Faith fanboy. And who can blame him?
"If anybody's going to kill Angelus, it's me, not you." This jives perfectly with my grasp of how Faith feels about Angel at this point. I've always figured if there was a scenario post-NFA when Angelus was loose again and had to be put down, Faith would argue her right to kill him this time, and eventually Buffy would agree. (It'd probably take some Spike-coaxing, though. "Let her have her turn this time, love." Because he knows killing Angel(us) is one more burden Buffy just doesn't need, and let's face it, Spike's a bit partisan when it comes to Buffy. This way she can dump all her feelings on Faith instead of on herself, which at the juncture I'm imagining would be a much-needed safety valve for Buffy.)
Gah, the chemistry. Faith/Wesley, Faith/Gunn, and Faith/Connor - is there are a gaggle of shippy Faith fic from this era that I've just never noticed? And if not, why not?
Also, Calvary: the Lilah and Wes/Lilah bits were good. Couldn't have cared less about the rest.
Okay, two more eps to go of FAITH BEING EXCELLENT.

Date: 2011-01-13 07:31 am (UTC)I approve of your mad Faith appreciation. Girl is the bomb.

There is NOT ENOUGH. But oh, oh, I am sort of writing some Faith/Wes at the mo. Favorite ship that never happened. Possibly the world could not have handled it.
Well, least there is Wes/Lilah to soothe my grief.

Ooh. Very interesting. Yanno, I think I'm willing to ship Wes with almost any girl except Fred. Cordelia, Faith, Illyria (although she pushes the definition of 'girl' a bit), Buffy, conceivably even Dawn. Just not Fred.

I don't mind her with Gunn, and out of everyone they're the ones that seem to have the best chance at a functional relationship (which the show seems to chuck overboard via character motivations I don't really get), but I pretty much just don't care about Fred or any of her relationships.

Huh. You mean Gunn killing Seidel so Fred wouldn't? I thought that was in-character. Fred and Gunn had a much more functional relationship than most everyone else, but there was still a fair amount of idealization of the other from either side. And once Fred realized Gunn couldn't accept/understand that her rage/need for vengeance was part of her, I guess she could no longer believe that he really loved her.

Date: 2011-01-17 05:57 am (UTC)Re: Gunn killing Seidel, I should mention that my grasp of S4 is still pretty spotty, despite spoilers, and although I saw Supersymmetry I don't remember it very well. So it is perhaps not surprising that the characterization is a little hazy. *g*
