Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] penny_lane_42, with tweaks:
If I were chained up in your garret (because garrets are the best for impoverished imprisoned writers) and I had to write you one story, what would you demand? Or alternatively, what's something you always wished I'd write but know is never going to happen?

I think I would have you write an original novel. And have it full of all of our mutual narrative kinks. Like that time you made a list of all your narrative kinks? This novel would be full of all of those. And it would also have awesome worldbuilding, because I think you could pull that off.

Awww! This actually means a lot to me. When I know someone fannishly, then usually what I most want them to write is more fannish stuff, especially if I like their fanfic and don't know whether I like their original fic, having not read any. Even though original fic is something I need to write - for myself, if for no other reason - I can't help but think I'm disappointing the fannish cause. (I know, I know - ego much?) So it means a whole lot to have you rooting for me.

I want a really dark apocalyptic story that focuses on Spike, Buffy and Dawn. Something that digs deep into the psychology of the characters and how the reshaped world has changed them on a fundamental level. You know, the sort of dark addictive tale that gets almost uncomfortably true in how it portrays the fall of humanity, but in such a way that you're riveted. Where hope gets stripped away till you think there's nothing left to live for, until you realize there's still virtue in a world gone black and that small spark is why you keep going on.

Or maybe some time travel. Whatevs. :p

Though I should add, I'd be interested in reading a similar dark tale with original characters, too!

Yanno, that sounds suspiciously like the Sprawling Post-Apocalyptic Epic that I think about at odd moments, except it's more of an ensemble piece, with a lot of the action driven by Angel-related events and a whole Dawn-Illyria subplot. So you might actually get that someday!

A) You and that Christmas vampire! I'd barely remember he existed, were it not for you.

B) What sort?

A. That poor Christmas vampire. Even his creator has forgotten him!

B. I would request science fiction since the world is currently bereft of it, but I don't think I've ever read any science fiction by you. I'm going to go with urban fantasy, perhaps in the Dark Quarter, including prominently featured mechanical elephant.

C. Christmas vampire novel!

Do you realize how hard vampires are to sell these days? They are very hard to sell. They're a dime a dozen on every street corner.

I have been thinking I need to write some more Dark Quarter stuff. Maybe with mechanical elephant!
