moody bingo

slaymesoftly, I see that
angst_bingo is closing sign-ups tonight. Her discussion of angstfic vs. darkfic nailed down for me the reason I'd trouble writing for most of these bingo things: part of the point is that the mood of the fic is already determined. I don't think I can sit down and write to a mood.
This is why I didn't sign up for
hc_bingo, even though a lot of the prompts looked really interesting: I don't want to write five (or twenty-five) hurt/comfort fics in a row, much as I love them. Besides, h/c is the obvious response to a lot of the prompts, and I have a knee-jerk negative response to obviousness. Somebody gives me loss of limb as a prompt, and I'm as likely to write a funny fic with serious undertones out of sheer perversity.
I still kind of want to write to the "poltergeist" h/c prompt, though, because the very thought of it makes me giggle (and more giggly h/c is what we need, right? Right?).
