On the stabby end of things is all the (sigh) additional sex. Where did all the Potentials go that night? Are they having a camp-out in the backyard with Andrew?

Date: 2010-05-10 03:07 am (UTC)I think all the Potentials are terrified and worried that they are not being led well, so they need to try a different leader before they realize they really do need Buffy.
I can agree with that. I don't have a problem with them telling Buffy they want to try out a different leader--I think it was good that Faith got a chance. I have a problem with them kicking her out of her house in the middle of an apocalypse and that her friends--who she died for and whose lives she saved again and again, as Spike reminds us--were all okay with that. I hate the writing for that. It makes me hate Dawn, and I love Dawn, and so it makes me bitter.
Also then there is Spike telling Buffy she's awesome.
True, true!

Hahaha! I love the idea of that! And he's telling them stories! *loves Andrew*
I actually kind of like all the sexy stuff (though I think it went on far too long--I didn't need to see all of it) because it's completely undermined as meaningful. Like, you see all these people just getting it on because they're scared they're going to die, not because they have any emotional connection. And then there's Buffy and Spike, with this really deep, beautiful emotional connection, and all they do is hold each other and look into each others' eyes. I feel like it kind of sends home the message that meaningless sex is...meaningless. And that commitment and selflessness are what love is really about. And I love that.
