So, we have another half-season, yay! Right up until the "Omega" I didn't care too much if the show continued or not, but those last ten minutes or so opened up so much new potential in and between characters. What's to become of Saunders now? I am going to be totally fascinated if she carries on, knowing what she knows. That little exchange with Saunders and Topher opened up whole new realms of Topher exploration. I lurve the Boyd+Ballard dynamic, and think the two of them together might tease out much more interesting moral nuances than either of them could alone.

So, in honor of the renewal, a very simple poll, because I haven't really wandered into Dollhouse fandom and thus have no idea what the general fannish opinions are.

Not really shipping anyone, but totally with you on the Boyd/Ballard :)

Yeah, it's really not a shippy show at all. Which I'm cool with, since I'm not much of a shipper, really, and am quite happy exploring all the non-romantic relationships.

And the thing I love about Boyd and Ballard is that they both have these objections to the Dollhouse, and yet here they both are working for it - we already know there's some self-loathing in each of them, and they probably each feel some of that same disgust for the other guy. They're basically in agreement that Dollhouse=bad, but I suspect that they're coming from vastly different philosophical positions, and would have vastly different solutions. And I think it'll be a lot easier to explore all that in each of them with another character who's at least superficially sympathetic to their views.

Plus, I just like the two competent cops running around, being cops. :)

I'm actually an Adelle/Dominic shipper, not Adelle + Dominic. ;)

Fair enough. *g* I have to admit, I don't get the attraction - I thought Dominic was an entirely straightforward jerk, and I couldn't see any chemistry between he and Adelle. I couldn't even figure out why she was so upset about his betrayayl. So maybe I have a blind spot for the guy...

It was more the ambiguity of it and the hints. And it's mostly for Adelle and what this connection means in light of her. The only fanfiction I've hunted down for Dollhouse has been Adelle fic. And the only shippy fanfic I've read has been Adelle/Dominic.

Well, I'm all for anything about Adelle, so I guess I can that, a little. Adelle rocks my socks off.

I love anything written by [livejournal.com profile] dollsome. She's a huge Adelle-lover and her pieces are just fun.

Ooh. I've read practically no fic for the fandom, but I'm definitely up to trying some... Thanks!

Huh, I was actually kind of the opposite. I had almost worked my way up to being excited about Dollhouse in the episode before this (whose title I can't remember), and I thought the whole Alpha/Omega thing had a lot of potential, but then they totally squandered it, and at the end of the episode, when Echo is basically right back where she started at the beginning of the series, I was back to not caring.

The Saunders stuff does really intrigue me, but since she's only a recurring character, I can't imagine it'll be the main focus of the next season, so it feels a little like watching Buffy just for Tara, you know?

I have to admit, I am completely and totally disinterested in Echo. Dushku just isn't doing it for me - I'd rather watch any of the other dolls. So by the end of the season the fact that she was back to basics barely even pinged my radar. Whereas it looks to me like things are just now heating up between most of the other characters.

Agreed. Although most of what makes Victor and Sierra interesting to me is that they can actually pull off the "different person every week" thing. I'm not really invested in them finding out who they are or any romantic ships... and I'm somewhat concerned that any further character development for Sierra will involve Joss coming up with new and inventive ways to abuse the poor girl. :-P
