Drabble: Procrastination

And now I try my hand at slash, sort of, and end up with something that looks... almost shippy? Sort of?

Procrastination
For gabrielleabelle: Larry/Jonathan (ish)

He was shorter than Larry, but then, everyone was shorter than Larry. Still, short, built like he’d wrestle at 103 if he wrestled at all, which he didn’t. Had never been athletic, but Larry was okay with that. (Anyway, since the rumors had started to drift Larry’d gotten a pretty good idea where he stood with the jocks.) Clear blue eyes that saw a lot more than they were seen. A little-lost-boy look that Larry wanted to win him out of. And maybe, maybe gay.

After graduation, Larry thought. Everything done. Then he’d finally nerve up and ask Jonathan out.

I'm actually tearing up here. After graduation is what broke me and him working up the nerve to ask Jonathan out.

I'm not sure whether to be sad for a missed opportunity, or happy that Larry's last thoughts were hopeful, and not of being shot down. Since Jonathan's fantasy involves busty Nordic twins, he probably wouldn't have bit. Must say, I share Larry's fascination, though. *pets Jonathan*

I'm not sure, either. I think mostly I'm just sorry Larry died at all - I love instances like his of reconciling and/or allying with one's enemies. And of all the people who died during graduation, we got Harmony back. Sigh.

I so wish we had that scene of Larry asking Jonathan out - I'm not so sure he'd have been turned down. This is very tender and touching. And I'm having a wonderful time reading quality fic I missed first time round, thanks to buffyversetop5.
