snick_backup | Dear Rare Ship Swap Author

Usually with these Dear Author things I am wordy to a fault. This time, though, I just want to say this: I love or am at least intrigued by all these ships, and I would like to see what you would do with them. I have a few general squicks and do-not-wants below, but beyond that my request is this: be true to the story. Write whatever dang story you want to write with whichever of my pairings you choose. Also feel free to include any other characters you like in the background, as family/friends/support/whatever.

Squicks: non-con, dub-con, underage. Also I have a severe squick about power imbalances in relationships; if there are pairings here that would seem to have them (eg Dawn/Ethan), it's because I'm fascinated by the idea of seeing that imbalance leveled.

Do not want: PWP or explicit sex in general. I have no problem with characters in my ships having sex, I just don't need all the details. Teasing hints go a long way with me.

I would really love to see any one of these in the context of more than a stress-induced one-night stand, even if the relationship lasts only a little longer than that. A little crazy AU plot to justify the ship would be fabulous, as would just a small character moment or two. All genres are on except for PWP. Go wild!

Things I would love: cracky AUs. Banter. Rom-commy romance (minus icky gender stereotypes). In terms of shippiness, I'm most excited about Jared/Gen. Gen and Adrianne as BFFs, fighting crime and growing orchids or whatever, would be fabulous. Julie doing anything with anyone at all would be grand! I prefer AUs to fics about the real-life actors, and I'm less excited about sex than about other things. Otherwise, have fun! Fun is definitely the order of the day with this fandom.

I picked these ships because I think they all have yummy potential. I'd prefer no underage, dub-con, or PWP - even in sex scenes, I care more about the emotions than the physical activity - but otherwise go wild! Feel free to interpret that '/' any way you see fit.

Please note that although I listed all these under BtVS, you're welcome to write them in the Ats canon/timeline if you like. It's all one big 'verse to me. :)

Illyria/Wes is here because I love love love their screwed-up angsty dynamic, one half self-loathing ex-Watcher and one half fallen God-King. I also love seeing them work their way towards something vaguely functional - for them, if for no one else. I am perfectly fine with things going AU during NFA if that's what it takes to get Wes and Illyria somewhere interesting. :)

Cordy/Wes and Cordy/Gunn are here because I think either would be fabulous. I always wanted the show to revisit Cordy/Wes after that failed kiss on BtVS; now you can! Feel free to take them any direction you choose, happy or angsty. Or I think Cordy and Gunn could be very good for each other. I think I'd love to see Cordy/Gunn functional somehow.
