I do not now remember 7.09 hardly at all, so we're skipping that one.
7.10 Death's Door
This ep (aka In Which Bobby Finally Dies, No Really, We Probably Mean It This Time) wasn't bad. I loved seeing Rufus again and the boys were so very pretty in their grief. (I mentioned this to the roommate, and she said, "Yes. Yes, they are.")
My very favorite bits, though, were the bits of Bobby's favorite memory, Dean and Sam arguing over action heroes and movie snacks.
That right there might be my favorite exchange on this show in a good long while, just for what it shows about the boys and their relationship. LOOK AT THEM BEING HAPPY, Y'ALL. (This just goes to show how context is everything.)
Also we have it confirmed that John really did drop the boys off at Bobby's on semi-regular basis, and that later on they did drop by his place just to hang out and relax. Yay, confirmation of fanon. \o/
The part I hated: the stupid, stupid cliffhanger. This show has never done cliffhangers before except for in season finales; now we've had four this season. And they're mostly bad cliffhangers, resolved within five minutes of the next ep. And now we've had the "Is Bobby dead?" cliffhanger twice in two eps. Enough, show. This new thing you're trying? STOP TRYING IT.
7.11 Adventures in Babysitting
I liked this a lot. After the high drama of last ep, the grief here was still heartbreaking but understated enough that I didn't feel slammed with it.
*Chrissy Krissy was fabulous. Can we keep her? I really enjoyed all her interactions with Dean. I loved him talking about Sam going to college, and how he's clearly come around to the idea that that is a good idea for people, in general, even though he maybe still has a hard time with Sam leaving. (I think my Gruff Hot Guy With a Heart of Gold / Sassy Teenage Girl friendship kink is showing.)
* Frank was also great fun.
* There was a definite theme this episode about Dean having trouble with time. (Oh heavens I just remembered the title of the next ep. Oh oh oh. I am brilliant, y'all.) First he forgets drinking his beer, which I'd say was pointing to his alcoholism (which presumably we really are going to address this season, considering how often it's come up). Then he says he sent Frank the numbers weeks ago, while Frank says it's only been a few days; we assume it's Frank's generally weak grasp of reality that's at fault. But then Dean sleeps for 36 hours straight and, when he wakes up, is surprised how long it's been. You tell me, folks, how likely it is that Dean slept 36 hours in a row. This is Dean.
Something is Afoot, I'm saying.
This was my favorite ep in quite a while, I think; since the Spike and Cordelia episode, at the very latest. Yes.
And next week we get this. (I'm trying to contain my excitement here, folks. Notice how very many exclamation points I didn't use.)

DEAN: All right, scoot, jerkface. Show your elders some respect.
SAM: You scoot, asshat.
