1. Sign-ups for [livejournal.com profile] rarewomen close today.

2. Sam and Dean's sexual relationships are an irregularly recurring theme over at [livejournal.com profile] feliciakw's blog, and the latest installment, here, has to do with 7.13 The Slice Girls, and also has links to previous discussion. Very interesting stuff! I don't tend to focus on the sex scenes, so it's really interesting to me to see someone carefully analyzing the characterization shown in them.

3. So [personal profile] ghostyouknow is writing knotting fic now. (Possibly I am chortling over this.) Specifically she has just posted Wannabe, which is pre-Gen/Misha and which Ghost describes as "the fic in which I see if I can write something approaching het omega/omega femslash." No, really.

I tell you true, I think the alpha/beta/omega dynamics that come out of knotting fic offer scope for some of the most interesting gender exploration I've ever seen. (Er, not that that's exactly my field of expertise, so take the superlative with a grain of salt.) The worldbuilding is so much fun to play with.

The problem with advertising it to other folks is that a) much of the good stuff is happening in RPF, which is a turn-off to plenty of fannish people and presumably completely mystifying to non-fannish people, and b) the tropes are in active development, and that development is nonlinear, happening across several fandoms in dozens of often only tangentially-related fics, many of them basically PWP with bonus worldbuilding. I don't know what I'd point people to as an introduction.

But the possibilities here, they are really cool, folks.

Fandom is apparently the place for me where "This ought to exist" implies "I am going to make it happen." I want a fic? I write it. I think Seasonal Spuffy needs a masterlist? I make it. (I almost never feel this kind of urge in real life.)

And now, having wished for an SPN RPF hetfic comm, I have made one. Ladies and gentlemen, I offer you [livejournal.com profile] spn_rpf_het. It doesn't look like much yet, but I have the comm rules mostly ironed out, and soon I'm going to knock on the doors of some other SPN comms, hat in hand, and ask if I can announce it there.

So. If shippy RPF full of pretty pretty SPN actors and actresses sounds like a thing you might like to see more of, come check us out! Tell your friends! Join us, watch us, track us, or do whatever it is you prefer to do with comms, and soon there will be something to see.

I've never started a comm before, y'all. It's very exciting!
