Happy Pi Day! And a ponder

Do you suppose it was purely happenstance that out of the 900 possible 3-digit combinations (assuming the first digit is non-zero, and without excluding any of the obvious 3-digit numbers like 666 or 911) for the Initiative's Xtra Speshul Lab, the writers picked 314, the first three digits of pi? Or is the Snick being overly geeky today?
