The Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship, SPN, Meg+Bela. Written for Trick or Treat for long-time fandom buddy gryfndor_godess. Trick or Treat was awfully fun last year. Everyone should do it.

Things I like:
1. Hell, Crowley's new philosophy/decorating scheme for hell, and Meg's disdain for same. In particular the whole first paragraph: Hell is a disaster. Crowley’s redecorated the whole thing in Corporate Existential, the kind of scheme that looks trendy for a hot minute and then is hella dated by this time next year. The souls shackled to cubicle chairs stare bleakly at computer screens, and Meg supposes that’s fine if you want new demons in oh, say, a couple of centuries from now.

2. Bela's spirit, despite being tortured in hell for a long, long time. "Long live the queen?" She knows which side her bread is about to be buttered on.

3. That Meg just killed Crowley and is about to take over hell, but just the memory of Alistair gives her shivers.

It was! IDK either. I'd like to because I was really happy with what I came up with (and that's how I started the hockey fic) and what I received, but I haven't written fic in so long I'm worried I won't be able to produce anything ~quality.

Aw, well, it's only 300 words! Quality is not really the issue for Trick or Treat, I feel, which is why it felt so low-pressure to me last time.

The Woodsman and The Widow, here, SPN Rufus/Ellen a/b/o. I actually am unusually fond of this fic that nobody read, but I shall circumspectly narrow my fondness to a list of three.

1. I'd never really written marriage of convenience, though I love it so, but this is that. Rufus marries Ellen so that the Harvelle omega ladies are known to have an alpha watching over them, and then long-standing friendship develops slowly into something more, maybe.

2. I mean, Rufus/Ellen. One of the many SPN het rarepairs of my heart.

3. I really like how much kindness Rufus and Ellen have for each other and how much care they take of one another in this, even though this isn't a love match.

Not a Hound, Saga, The Will + Lying Cat gen. This was a discarded scene from my main YT assignment.

Things I like:
* That it stands alone well enough that I got to give it to my recip as a treat!

* That The Will had no idea what a cat was. And that Lying Cat was offended by this fact.

* That The Will is actually kind of a hapless Freelancer.

That's not a pairing I that ever even occurred to me, but ooooh. Yes. YES. It does make sense. Sounds really interesting. though ABO isn't my trope.

I have a lot of Rufus+Harvelles feelings based on them all hunting together in that one ep in S5. It's never even commented on! Clearly they do it all the time. In fact after Jo left home, she'd probably been talking Rufus into teaming up with her on hunts for a while before Ellen caught on. When Ellen does find it, she makes surprisingly little fuss to Rufus about it - she'd never admit it to either of them, but it actually makes her feel a little better, knowing Rufus has Jo's back.

From there, it's a short step to Ellen/Rufus. :D Because Rufus is great, and Ellen is great and deserves better than Bobby. >:(

(Uh, sorry if you are Bobby-positive. I have a lot of bitterness regarding his use in later seasons combined with how pairing Ellen up with a guy almost twenty years her senior was perfectly okay, but Jody Mills was sooooo much older than Sam that we deliberately held off any possible Sam/Jody feelings by making mom jokes.)

I don't have many SPN opinions left. XD And, like, I like Bobby better than John, but that's not hard, so, uh. No offence taken here. But man, yes, I would have SO been here for seeing Rufus and the Harvelles hunt together A LOT, yes yes. And you're right about the double standard in regards to the age difference. :/
