Spend today reading Guardians fic (mostly fluffy genfic, which was exactly what I wanted; recs forthcoming) and Guardians comics (Annihilation was dull in the "Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die" kind of way; Annihilation: Conquest - Star-Lord was...cute? Better, anyway). May or may not have been a day well spent.

How does Annihilation actually work? Because I know it crosses into Nova because those issues are Marvel's go-to promo whenever the New on Unlimited page is down for uploading new issues. I've thought about reading it, but I never figured out how to properly follow the crossover.

I really like the Marvel NOW GotG comics, btw. Super cute, and the Sara Pichelli art is great. Angela and Gamora hanging out and killing stuff together is amazing.

Well, Annihilation itself is just a six-part miniseries, and then there are some secondary miniseries attached to it, but I didn't read those. And then there a bunch more miniseries that then feed into the next event, which is Annihilation: Conquest. These minis include Annihilation: Conquest - Star-Lord (I'm not even joking) and Annihilation: Conquest - Quasar (featuring Phyla-Vell, the lesbian daughter of the original Captain Marvel). So you read the minis and then the main event mini. And then out of the main event and the Star-Lord mini you get Guardians of the Galaxy, which goes on for however long.

IDK, I just do what the people at ffa tell me to! Probably I will get to the new GotG eventually, too.

Ahh okay, thanks. Do you think Annihilation is a necessary prerequisite for Annihilation: Conquest, or could I skip the first one?

Honestly, I think you could probably skip? It's got some stuff about Drax that you'd maybe want if you care a lot about Drax, but I was otherwise not impressed.
