I have discovered that I can load a comic from Marvel Unlimited at the library and then read it in the unconnected comfort of home. W00t!
FF #4 – Fraction, Allred
I read the first three issues of this book as part of the FF/Fantastic Four TPB, and while it was cute, I had no particular feelings about it. Fourth time’s the charm, I guess, because I adored this. Bentley tries to be super-villianous, the moloids fail to foil Jen’s dinner plans, Jen has a lovely night out with some dude that she apparently almost married once upon a time, and we’re all a bit suspicious of the returned Johnny Storm – this was a very low-key issue, and it was adorable.
It helps, maybe, that I really love Allred’s rendition of She-Hulk, big and buxom and green and very feminine. (I’m reminded a bit of Bujold’s Taura, except Jen has much better fashion sense.) The art in general is very fun.
The entire issue was darling, and I loved it, and now I’m anxious for more.
