I bought the first season of Leverage while it was $13 on Amazon, because it sounded silly and fun and it wasn't streaming on Netflix.

It is indeed a very silly show. I'm not sure how they're going to maintain my interest, because it isn't as though the plots make any sense, nor are they terribly clever. (Well. Mostly I'm just really unexcited about the last one I watched, the mob wedding one.)

But you guys, HARDISON. <3 <3 <3 He gets all the best lines. I came in expecting to love Parker, too, and while she is very cute, I don't think I'm quite to the love stage yet.

And Christian Kane, dude, he bulked up. Tbh, I don't think he's nearly as cute as he was back on Angel? And he's been taking voice lessons from Dean Winchester; he's all low and gravelly now. However, the martial arts expert who has heart-to-hearts and doesn't like guns is a type I can live with.

I like Sophie fine when she's not drooling over, um, our main guy for no apparent reason. I was okay with his blatant fangirling in the pilot, but since then it seems to be all one-sided, and I am not amused.

I can't even remember our main guy's name right now, which should tell you all you need to know about my feelings. I just, I don't care, you guys. I gather I'm supposed to be impressed because the actor was a one-time Oscar winner, but I don't.

No one's real deep yet. I can definitely see myself for falling for most of these guys if they pick up some complexity (other than the complexity inherent in a bunch of really nice thieves). In the meantime, I'll keep watching Hardison.

So, I'm having fun, which is really all I expected. So.

Isn't Hardison the actor who played Jake in AHBL?

Yes. Yes, he is. (He also has a bit part in a Buffy episode. Which I didn't realize until I saw his name in the credits, because it is a bit part. /triva)

I watched Leverage through to sometime in S3, I think, marathoning it while working. I recall being dearly in love with Parker and Hardison (Parker grew on me, Hardison was insta-love), and would quite happily have watched just the Parker & Hardison show, but I wasn't terribly interested in any of the other characters, and yeah, it did get boring sometimes. There were a couple of episodes I skipped entirely, others I skimmed through, but some were good fun. I will be interested to see your thoughts on various things as your watching progresses.

Yay fun, though! I started watching Warehouse 13 the other day and am having similar "whee!" feelings about that. Adoring Mika/Myka/Mica (no idea how to spell her name, but she's my favourite).

Leverage is one I watch once in a while, but don't really seek out. A local channel (when I got TV!) ran marathons once in a while and it's fun. So much love for Hardison! He works a lot of Doctor Who in there; watch for it. I cracked up once when he made the aliases for a couple of the others as "Sylvester McCoy & his wife, Sarah Jane". Hee!

The last few seasons are filmed in the Pacific North West too. One's actually set in Boston (which confused me!) but filmed in Portland. I think the current one is actually set in Portland!

I watched most of S1 and couldn't really get into it. From all the tumblr folks whom I respect, I was thinking I'd love it, but... The cases get in the way of character development from what i can see. I want the show to be the Parker/Hardison/Elliot show b/c I really can't get myself to care about Nate (That's his name!) and Sophie.

So, yeah. Fun, but also meh. I'm having that experience with Criminal Minds, too. I like the characters more than the show.

I like Eliot okay, too, but yes. Hardison insta-love, definitely. And some of the episodes are just not very good.

Since I'm not a Whovian, there's a good chance I miss a lot of the references. I'll keep an eye out, though.

The last few seasons are filmed in the Pacific North West too.

Ooh! Now this intrigues me. I love watching shows that look like home.

Exactly. But they're around enough that I think I'll get through the rest of the season at least, no problem.

The problem with shows involving cons/tricks/etc is that they need to be clever, and unfortunately, a lot of the episodes fizzled a bit in that the trick relied on everyone involved being entirely oblivious :-/.

*deletes other negative comments because rainy parades are no fun*

I would have watched the Parker/Hardison/Eliot show a bit longer than the +whassisface +Sophie show, I think.

It's a very light show (though it does have moments of more depth), which is why I'm not passionately obsessed with it, but it's a lovely one to watch when you just want to watch for fun.

And I swear, Hardison is very close to being my ideal man. Life of crime aside, and even that he does for good motives (or at least he grows into it). Not only is Aldis Hodge devestatingly attractive, there's the smarts and the geek references and the fact that he's just really nice. Love.

Parker I think will grow on you more, but yeah, Hardison is far and away my favorite.

Tbh, I don't think he's nearly as cute as he was back on Angel

Agreed.

AGREED.

Nate (that's his name) can wander off and never return and I will be 100% fine.

Keep watching :D The character development picks up towards the end of the season, and gets MUCH better in future seasons. I wasn't overly fond of Parker at first either, but now she's one of my favorites (her, Hardison, and Eliot.)

Hardison is excellent. (Even though he wants $100 in singles for visiting the strip club with. *sigh*)

Lindsey McDonald was for a long time my hands-down Buffyverse favorite for sheer eye candy. (He's neck-and-neck with Gunn, now.) But he's rougher here and bulkier, and the stubble and long hair doesn't do anything for him, IMO.

Hmm. I only bought the one season, and am disinclined to watch it a disk at a time through netflix. I wonder if the library has seasons of the show....
