het mpreg ficathon?
Feb. 11th, 2012 12:01 amverity: maybe we need to have a het mpreg fest
ME: That would be SO COOL
ME: and hey, het mpreg isn't obscure enough by itself, so I could write the RPF werebear mpreg fic that I've been dreaming about. that should be sufficiently specialized, yes?
Multifandom, 500 word minimum, possibly to allow updates from WIP. ('Cuz I know there's at least two of you with fics that'd qualify. *g*)
Interested?

Date: 2012-02-11 01:52 pm (UTC)Excellent. That's what I was wondering when I saw Verity's original post. That would be really good motivation.
Also, even though I doubt she would do it, I have an offline friend (who's also on LJ) who said just last night she was tempted to write mpreg. Maybe I could get her to join.

Date: 2012-02-11 03:33 pm (UTC)Theoretically, I am interested in participating. I wish I could do better than that, but it really depends on whether I can use that WIP and/or get another plot bunny and if I feel like I'm not recycling too much of the same stuff.
Of course, I say that *now.* As soon as it's in front of me, I might suddenly be all gung-ho to write were-echidnas. There's like a 95% chance.
And I will definitely read!

Date: 2012-02-11 03:46 pm (UTC)(Actually, I'm pretty fond of the Snape/Spike mpreg. Still can't quite believe I wrote it, though.)

Especially if you keep talking about the were-echidnas. *eyebrow*

Date: 2012-02-11 03:41 pm (UTC)You mean with Jubilees? Huh.
Especially if you keep talking about the were-echidnas. *eyebrow*
In my defense, last time I was saying that angels are clearly more like monotremes than birds! It's different! Because were-echidnas are too disturbing to contemplate.

Date: 2012-02-11 03:45 pm (UTC)Yeah. I mean, it'd be a little weird, because none of the characters involved are female now, but...
Mostly I'm just chortling that YOU HAVE TWO MPREG WIPS. NEITHER OF WHICH WAS EVEN MY IDEA.
Yeah, I was having a little trouble imagining the were-echidnas, too. For one thing, It's a lot harder to handwave away the mass conservation problem with a were the size of an echidna.

Date: 2012-02-11 04:02 pm (UTC)I still blame you for Diaspores, because I would not have written the plant sex except for you. But yeah, you're totally innocent on the Cas/Dean one. How did that happen?
no subject
Date: 2012-02-11 04:06 pm (UTC)Wait, NO I DIDN'T.
Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I might have been rereading Diaspores again the other day, and loving every line of it to bits. The whole thing. Poor miserable Sam and protective Dean and badass Jo. I just want to hug them all! Honestly, that fic is one of my favorite things.
I am so easy. *facepalm*
Edit: Although possibly it's better to say that I'm predictable, because "easy" implies that Diaspores is not also just a really well-written fic, and that would be a lie.

Date: 2012-02-12 03:26 am (UTC)AW! I am really so happy that you like it. I mean, it was for you! Even if you didn't ask or express thoughts about logical conclusions. ;)
And I have nothing against predictable people. See: admiration for cannibalism line and visceral humor-gore. If you're easy and/or predicatble, I definitely am!

Date: 2012-02-11 03:58 pm (UTC)(Though, there could be *people-sized* echidnas! Everyone thinks they were wiped up in one of the mass extinctions*! But they still exist!).
*I have never heard of giant echidna fossils. I just made that up.

Now I want you to write this! Stop it! Stop it!

I ... may have figured out how to do it? Maybe? But it is definitely not Priority Project. I am holding off and seeing if I still want it later. *g*

Date: 2012-02-11 05:40 pm (UTC)We honestly have no time frame, at this point; we only got as far as the midnight bright idea stage. *g* We'd have to chat and get back to you. Although, you realize the rarewomen window is, like, two and a half months? Fics for that aren't due until April 30. So I don't know.
When we have solid facts, we'll get back to you. :)

Date: 2012-02-11 05:55 pm (UTC)I've been focused so much on original stuff right now that I haven't written actual fic (other than my birthday one) since after Yuletide, so the idea of being committed to two things at once freaked me out. But I guess I didn't realize that the window is so long! So that's good! I feel better now!
I will look forward to solid facts. And hope that someone writes pregnant Dean for this, because suddenly I really want pregnant Dean fic. ;p

Date: 2012-02-11 08:14 pm (UTC)Ha ha! LOOK HOW I HAVE CORRUPTED YOU.
Alas, my pregnant!Dean WIP is gen, so that's no good. I could rec you a couple by other people that I like, if you want. ;)

Date: 2012-02-12 02:10 am (UTC)*nod* I know what you mean. I mean, I'm pretty equal-opportunity, but there are definitely some guys I'm more interested in seeing in that situation than others.
Recs! *rubs hands together*
A Fresh Twist to the Knot, Which I Do Not Wish to Untie - gen, probably my favorite in the fandom for being about Dean actually dealing with the day-by-day of being pregnant, but will BREAK YOUR HEART. Fair warning.
That Which is Most Precious - fairly light Dean/Castiel pre-slash, refers to S7 events but I'm not sure you need to be familiar. Um, I kind of just like it because it pushes my angsty->hopeful buttons.
No Room at the Inn - gen, in which the angels needed something different from Dean. Cheerfully blasphemous, but no more than the show itself, and kind of adorable.
Five Times Dean Winchester Did Not Get Knocked Up - as advertised. *g*
