So,
rarewomen is open for signups! \o/ \o/
This means y'all can offer to write SPN RPF fic, which is a totally excellent idea. Why, you ask?
1. Because Supernatural RPF is FULL OF CRACK, yo. Guy's cursed to be a printer? Yes. Snail romance, with illustrations? Yes. Epic werecat mpreg? Yes. Fusions with the Dragonriders of Pern, The Big Bang Theory, and the Gmail Teahouse theme? Yes, yes, and yes.
Me and
ghostyouknow27 had the following conversation.
Trufax. CRACK, y'all.
2. Because right now, the crack in this fandom is all about the dudes. I want crazy ladycentric adventures and Gen/Adrianne BFF hijinks and silly rom-commy Gen/Jared fluff and plotty Gen/Jared epics with superheroes/mad scientists/spaceships/epic plot devices of choice.
3. Because the ladies in question are very, very pretty.
4. Because necessary knowledge of canon is minimal. All you really need is a few eps of SPN to get a feel for what the people look like. There are a few fannish conventions for the guys - Jared's a laid-back goofball, Jensen's reserved, Misha's very peculiar - but even those are flexible and frequently ignored; there are no conventions for the ladies, because they just aren't written enough. Break ground! Start trends! Write fun layered kickass women!
5. Because you will make the Snick very happy. She promises MUCH SQUEE.

Me and
GHOSTYOUKNOW: It's like they took the crack of every other fandom, including SPN proper, and refined it to pure distilled crazypants. It's utterly unapologetic about it, too. It's just like, "Yeah, I want to write a fic in which Jensen is a wheel and Jared is a hamster, and they go on an epic quest to find a salt lick."
ME: Is that an actual fic description you've seen? Because I kind of want to read it now.

Date: 2012-01-26 03:49 pm (UTC)I wonder if Jensen is really reserved? He seems like a goofball himself (she said, thinking of him dancing around to "Eye of the Tiger").

Date: 2012-01-26 06:18 pm (UTC)You pretty much have to be something of an exhibitionist to even be an actor, don't you? You're a performer by trade. So yeah, I rather doubt the real Jensen Ackles reserved when compared to, say, me. But for fic purposes I think it makes him a nice foil for the more boisterous Jared.

Sure, that makes sense.

This made me snort.
I have heard it said that Jensen is more reserved around fans? And he's pretty serious about his acting. So, maybe that's where fandom Jensen comes from?

Date: 2012-01-27 02:56 am (UTC)Ah. That could definitely be true. I don't pay enough attention to the actors themselves to know.

There is MUCH FUN to be had with RPF. *nod*
