Various totally unrelated things
Mar. 11th, 2011 09:48 pm* It feels like approximately half of all my fanfic involves people having deep, quiet conversations while sitting on someone's bed.
quinara pointed out to me a while back that my stories tend to happen during the times in between the action, which I had somehow never noticed before but which is absolutely true. It makes sense, though; those are often the scenes I love the most in canon.
* So far, Supernatural hasn't been doing a very good job of justifying its dialogue. By which I mean, it is frequently unclear why Sam and Dean are having the conversation they're having at the time they're having it. Dean will remind Sam of something they already both know from long experience; Sam will ask some important clarifying question about the end of a case a good twelve hours after the case has been closed. It's all for the purposes of delivering the exposition, and I suspect it's partly so that their important, plot-relevant conversations occasionally happen somewhere other than in the car, but it comes across feeling pretty awkward.
* I've never had a good handle on describing voices, particularly guys' voices. What is that sort of breathy quality that Jensen Ackles' voice has, and also Keanu Reeves and, uh, other guys I can't think of right now? Is that what people mean by a voice being husky?
