It is a not-very-good early-90's SF show, much beloved by me and eowyn_315. I kind of want to do some mad fangirling posts of it, but I wanted to gauge interest first.

It's old and, frankly, not all that great. But we loves it.

I guess what I really want to know is, would you up for some mad fangirl squee if I made a sort of introductory post first about the show?

There are lots of things I love that realize, objectively, aren't that great. But love knows no reason sometimes!

I have vague memories of it, mostly revolving around my Tiger Beat magazine that had a Jonathan vs. Jonathan article: Jonathan Brandis of SeaQuest and Jonathan Taylor Thomas of Home Improvement. I was eleven. It was riveting.

Hah! I'd have come down firmly on the Jonathan Brandis side of that debate - I had such a crush on him at that age.

I was crushed by this show. I was so excited ... Sci-Fi with Roy-Effing-Scheider every week?!

Super-submarines! Political intrigue! Mysteries of the deep!

And Bob Ballard (of all people) consulting, and Steven Spielberg executive producing... Yeah. It was not a great show.

But I was young, and I loved it anyway. :)

My daughter had a bit of a little girl crush on Jonathan Brandis but we never did watch the show. I'm surprised that I didn't. I usually check out the scifi stuff.

Oh, I had a huge crush on Jonathan Brandis. Possibly that's why I now pay as little attention to the character as possible. *g*
