I surely have noticed this before, but when Kendra says her Watcher sees signs of a great evil rising in Sunnydale, turns out Drusilla ain't the problem. It's just gonna take a few more eps to see it.

Housemate: "So, is there a whole subgenre [of fanfiction] about just Kendra?" And I had to tell her, alas, no. Alas, because Kendra is mildly awesome.

Still love the Spike/Dru in this episode. Love love love it. Also, I finally spotted those bruises on her arms that the shooting scripts talked about (as evidence of her weakened state) but which I'd never actually seen before.

Am still annoyed that Dru was in fact healed without Angel actually dying. If we're going to be dodgy with our ritual details, couldn't we at least point it out in classic BtVS fashion? *grump*

Did the ritual explicitly say he had to die, or just implied that he did? And the same thing kind of happens in season 3 :P

Well, Buffy and Giles have a conversation about it, and he sounds pretty certain of the outcome. I can totally see how a person writing a ritual might say the vampire in question would die, just because that has symmetry to it, and a nice ring. I just would have liked the show to have pointed out the discrepancy.

And the same thing kind of happens in season 3

And just reading that causes me to be hit by a little wave of Kendra love. *sigh* Darn you, I'm watching S4 right now. Do I now have to add S2 to the re-watch list? Oh, well, this is not a burden as I'm always watching one season or another! LOL

Yanno, I was just watching S4 a little bit ago, and I find it striking how little I found to say about it, vs. how much to say there is about S2. Granted, I was watching my favorite chunk of S4 episodes ("The Initiative" through "A New Man"), so I'd seen them all a bunch of times already, but... S4 just prompts many fewer thinky thoughts than S2 does. The stuff that I'm clearly supposed to be thinking about (the Initiative, Adam), I don't care about. *g*

Is true. And can I just say again how incredibly useful that index is? I was using it just the other day to look for Dru icons. You are fabulous for putting it together and keeping it up-to-date.

There is a sad, sad dearth of Kendra stories! You should rectify that ASAP!

::sigh:: Oz was my first Buffy-verse love, and still a strong contender for the top spot. He's why I started watching in the first place, and broke little shipper heart when he left! I never quite forgave Willow for choosing Tara over Oz!

Err, honest I'm not actually as crazy as that last paragraph makes me sound!

Alas, I have rather a long list of ficdom deficiencies I want to rectify, and I'm afraid Kendra isn't very high on the list - partly because I'm slightly terrified of writing someone of so different a culture (even though she apparently didn't actually interact with her culture much).

Oz! Oz oz oz. It totally broke my shipper heart, too. Oz/Willow was definitely my first and possibly still my only Buffyverse OTP. If I ever write post-series stuff, I'd love to bring him back to the gang somehow.

I shipped Spike and Dru so hardcore back when I was first watching the show, and I will always, always love Dru. She's so awesome.

Spike and Dru are just so neat together. It always boggles me when I read fic about them that disses Dru - Spike thinking back to how she didn't love him, or him 'realizing' that he didn't really love her... No. No. Their affection for each other, twisted as it is, is blatantly obvious, and I love them for it. Yay. :)

Exactly. I think Dru was incapable of loving him in quite the way he wanted--and definitely in the way that more highly-evolved Spike (say from S5 on, especially after he got his soul) would want--but that didn't mean she didn't care deeply about him in her own way and Spike definitely loved her. That poor, broken girl. I have so much compassion for her. I really need to rewatch S2 and maybe write some more of her....She's fun!
