I submitted fandom nominations to Yuletide, so apparently I'm participating. Whaddya know. It's just, I've been working on my requests since April, and I couldn't bear not to participate.
It's a ficathon for small fandoms. (Like Winnie the Pooh, or The Babysitter's Club, or Greek Mythology, or Singin' In The Rain, or so forth...)
Currently, they're in the middle of coming up with a list of eligible fandoms, so that when people make fic requests, they can choose their fandoms from that list.
Probably not. Although I might end up pinch hitting.
It really is very fascinating reading all the different stories. It's one of my favourite archives to check out when I'm bored, just because there's such a big variety of stuff there.
What Deird said. :) Part of what's so fun about it is the huge range of folks that participate in it - you end up with a much larger pool of writers and readers than usual.
Last year I made a recs list of a few of my favorite fics, to give you a taste of the sort of thing that gets written.
