[Poll #1399082]

Personally, I think I'm most apt to want to browse fic by author or by season set. I might want to browse by pairing, except that the fic-posting session in question is pairing-specific.

I just posted a poll about indexing preferences. Why yes, I would cross-reference for fun, if I had anything that needed cross-referencing... *uses semi-appropriate icon*

I love to search by season cause sometimes I'm in the "mood" to read a post-NFA fic or a S5 fic or whatever. Also, pairing's important cause I'm picky about my couples. And length cause I seek out the longfics, though, on occasion, I just try to find a one-shot.

Oh! They all sound so exciting! It's the librarian's daughter in me. I like the pairing idea, but when it's all one pairing (hello, seasonal_spuffers!) then by season seems cool, too. Length has it's appeal. As does author. I see why people cross-reference...

LOL. You are not making my job any easier... *g*

I actually was a librarian for a year, more or less - a clerk in the children's department. Hands down the best job I've ever had. If I ever decided 7 years of higher education wasn't enough (I, erm, took my time), I would so go back for a Library Science degree.

I know just what you mean about being in the mood for things. I'm like that, too - sometimes I'll go to Just Rewards or one of the other higher-quality archives and try everything vaguely interesting from, say, S4.

I prefer by pairing really, for purely selfish reasons, because then I can skip over the ones I'm not interested in (though if I know and like the author, I will always pause). Of course, this doesn't apply to communities like [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy and so on. In those, season by season would be very useful.

Good to know. Thank you!

If the fic posting is already pairing-specific, which is what I look at first, then I would go by author.

Good to know. Presently author and season are almost neck-and-neck, excluding pairing (which I am excluding because the whole point of the self-serving poll is to help me decide how to do the index post for [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy *g*).

Is this only for the fic from [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy? Because if not, then perhaps subsets to separate the fic from the shorter poetry...

Actually, I decided to do that very thing. :)
