I hit 40k words on Seraph today. This makes it, incomplete, four times the length of my longest completed work, either original or fanfic. And this is particularly exciting because length has always intimidated the heck out of me.

So... W00T!

Writing long, plotty fics is tremendous fun!
I write them in Russian - a language I master much better than English - and I know the feeling.

Honestly, plot is my nemesis, regardless of what I'm writing. Fortunately, pregnancy fics have a certain amount of built-in structure, which helps. :)

And I'm absolutely boggled by people who write in two or more languages. Actually, I'm just terribly impressed by anyone who's bilingual, regardless of whether or not they write. *g*

Judging by Seraph, the plot is your very friendly nemesis (not unlike Spike to Buffy :)))

As to me being bilingual, I realized recently that I can hardly speak English. I often write but I rarely have a chance to speak.

*snerk* Like I said, having some inherent structure helps a lot - sooner or later, either there's going to be a baby or there's not. Helps keep me focused.

I can definitely see that. I write it a lot better than I speak it, too, and it's my native language! Of course, when I'm writing I get to go back and smooth things out and take out the repetition, and so on. *g*

LOL. Don't think I'm going to make 80k - I don't have enough plot (or brain!) left. Then again, I didn't set out to write but maybe a piddly little 10k thingy, and here I am. *g*
