Spring Fling recs
Apr. 12th, 2014 08:52 amI have been reading
spnspringfling very indifferently, which basically means "only the things with women and also occasional other rare pairs." From that group, though, there's been a surplus of really great stuff. Behold!
Greeting the Monster in Our Easter Dresses - Meg/Abaddon
Mostly a Meg character study, set mostly in a hell that's whimsical but fully tangible. This is Meg all the way through, doing as she's bid but enjoying Earth more than she should, serving her cause but still taking pleasures for herself where she finds them. And the writing is ace.
Welcome Home - Sam/Dean/Jess
I generally read very little Wincest, but it turns out I am a sucker for Wincest/girl threesomes, especially quiet happy ones, which this eventually becomes. The simmering tension of all the things Jess doesn't know about Sam is what makes this one, I think.
Three Things - pre-Sam/Kevin
In which Kevin comes back from the dead and has trouble making the adjustment. Also involves Sam walking around in his brain and then having a heart to heart with him. The dream sequence is really nicely done and suits Kevin's character very well, and the interactions with them give some neat insight into Sam as well.
All Good Things - Sam/Tessa
Elegiac. Sad and terrible and lovely, with great imagery of a Sam in a big empty world with only ants, snakes, and a reaper for company.
Our Last Summer - Jared/Jensen/Genevieve (NSFW)
And now some art! This is just gorgeous, the intimacy, the lines and colors, the late-summer feel that suffuses everything.
