a Saturday

I got my monthly shipment of comics today! Yaaay! I guess I should ration them out. Included was the second trade of Journey into Mystery featuring Sif, which I have been waiting sooo long for, it feels like. Gosh, it's so pretty. I may have to get some caps from MU later to make icons. Also included was #1 of Pretty Deadly. I described it to my roommate as "a western about Death's daughter," and my roommate, who has up to now evidenced zero interest in comics, said, "Ooh, I'd read that!" Score one for DeConnick, Rios, and me.

Today roommate, Mr. Roommate, and I dropped Baby Roommate off with the babysitters and drove up to the city to see a theater production of Neverwhere. We were twenty minutes late because traffic was so ridiculous (made worse because the route Google Maps kept wanting us to take was closed). And then we left at intermission because the production itself was so disappointing. I think the people involved must not have read the book, because the characters were so out of whack. Croup was played by a fun actress, but her performance was big and flaily and mustache-twirling, and Hunter's casting and interpretation was just completely off. She was flirtatious and swaggering, and she had no dignity.

So instead we went for Indian take-out, which we brought back to the babysitters'. And now I am home, and there are comics and also a rare pair newsletter to get out tonight. But hey, at least LJ and whatever else has quit hanging up on me, so YAY THAT.
