FIC: Women Who Run Away From Home

Title: Women Who Run Away From Home
Fandom: Supernatural
Characters: Jo Harvelle, Anna Milton
Words / Rating: 3600 words / PG-13 for language
Spoilers: through 5.02 Good God, Y'All.
Summary: Jo doesn't trust the woman who appears in her motel room, but there's a storm of demons brewing that she trusts a whole lot less.

A/N: Written for the rarewomen fic exchange for latenightcuppa. Full masterlist here; most of the fics (including this one) posted to the AO3 collection here. Beta'd by the excellent bobthemole, who kept prodding me, "But how does that make Jo feel?" The story is much the better (and 700 words longer) for her assistance.

One of my recipient's suggestions was Jo and Anna on a hunt, and this is where that idea took me. I still have not managed to work out for myself all that Jo does and becomes after she strikes out and becomes a hunter in earnest. This is maybe another piece of that puzzle, though.

SPN fic for meeeee

So rarewomen fics are up (including my Jo fic, for which see previous post). There's lots of yummy stuff there - SPN fic, Buffy fic, BSG fic for series both old and new, and even an Ainsley fic! W00t

But most of all there is this SPN fic written for me about how Kat, the girl in 1.10 Asylum who knew how to handle a shotgun, becomes a hunter. There's a library (always one of my favorite places) and a cameo from another of our favorite SPN ladies, but at the center of it is Kat herself, who starts out a terrified high schooler trying not to think of happened in that asylum that one time and ends up a confident young woman with a purpose.

It's the niftiest thing, basically. I wasn't sure quite what I wanted from my SPN fic request, but this exceeded all my expectations. Go read!
