Mar. 23rd, 2011 12:54 pmI've spent a lot of years not using the word 'awesome' at all, almost ever. IMO, its current use in our culture cheapens it by stripping all the actual awe out of it, and I've not wanted to be party to that. (It's possible this makes me an incredible prig.) I use 'fabulous' instead, because it applies in all the same situations most people use 'awesome' but doesn't bother me so much (other than the fact that it makes me sound like an over-enthusiastic Mary Kay lady, but I try to ignore that part). 'Nifty' and 'spiffy' are similarly useful.
But if, after all these years, 'awesome' becomes a part of my regular vocabulary, it will be all Dean Winchester's fault. *chagrin*
