Route 666
This ep wins the award of lamest title so far. In fact, all the way around I found the ep a bit of a non-event. We had yet another evil ghost bent on vengeance in an even less interesting than usual way - haunted internal combustion engines lack that certain gravity, somehow - and the "Dean meets up with old flame" plot was awfully broad strokes and very bland. I never did have any idea what they saw in each other aside from, hmm, the obvious.

The best thing about it, I thought, was the exploration of black/white relations in the 60's and in the present; I wish that story had been served by a much more interesting and organic plot.

Nightmare
Some Big Important Plotty Stuff here: Sam has telekinetic powers now, there are more people whose mothers died on the ceiling, etc. At the end of the day, though, I just don't feel Sam like I feel Dean, and I end up paying more attention to Dean's reactions to Sam's latest freakout than I do to the freakout itself.

(Can I just say, people being consumed by flames while stuck to the ceiling is one of the cheesiest, most bizarre horror deaths I've heard of in a while. Too bad the show couldn't have latched onto something I could take a little more seriously. Also, why is it always women? Is there a reason? What if it'd been John Winchester who'd died instead, and Mary had gone all Linda Hamilton with the boys? Although without John's military training or Linda's Madonna complex, I suppose it isn't very likely Mary would have gone that route. Alas.)

As for the actual, yanno, story, I thought the guy who played Max did an excellent job. Also, I want to slap that old neighbor who claimed that the stepmother not stepping in was somehow even worse than the dad and uncle who beat the boy in the first place.

One last thing, regarding Father Simmons and Father Freely: tell me again why we let Dean talk to civilians. Like, ever at all.
