Title: In Time of Need
Fandom: Supernatural
Pairing: Sam/Jo
Words / Rating: 2400 words / NC-17 for sex
Warnings: alpha/beta/omega dynamics, heat sex, knotting, intersex genitalia
Summary: A few hours ago, Jo Harvelle punched Sam's brother in the nose. Now she's offering to help Sam through his much-belated first heat, and he's too miserable to refuse.

A/N: a new kinkmeme fill! It's been a while since we had one of those around here. Someone prompted omega!Sam in his first heat, and there was no way I could turn down that kind of misery. It's set very early in S2, so I have no justification for why John is never mentioned in it. Maybe Sam is denial.

Also can be read at AO3.

For all that tracking down Ellen Harvelle was Sam’s idea in the first place, by the time he walks in the door to Harvelle's Roadhouse he’s decided to let Dean deal with her.  )

I would totally rec my gift fic here, except I already did yesterday when I got it, but you should absolutely read it, because it is delightful. And in other things:

Handprint on the Driver's Side - Sam/Jo, R
UGH, so good I am just beside myself. Jo runs across Sam shortly after 3.16. This isn't the first time I've seen this premise, but I think this might be my favorite execution of it. It's all sharp edges here, and kindness is unwelcome, and the characterization is so good. Maybe my favorite piece of the challenge so far.

Synergy - Sam/Dean/Jess, PG
In which Dean rescues Jess from the fire and then has to figure out where he fits in. The conclusion came a little quick, it felt like to me, but the rest was all delicious and hurty in the best ways.

Under Electric Candlelight - J2, NC-17
The core of this is porn, but it's the feelings at the edges that hit me right in the gut. I feel a lot for Jared and Jensen both, but mostly Jared, poor kid.

Unholy Trinity - ART, Naomi+Abaddon+Kali wallpaper
It's so pretty! I love the colors. But the composition is super neat, too, and I love the visual motifs attached to each character. I'm putting this as my desktop, as soon as I get bored of what I have.

'Verse: The Fairy Tale 'Verse
Pairings: Jo/Sam, Ellen/Rufus
Rating / Word Count: NC-17 / 11k so far
Contents / Warnings: Alpha/beta/omega dynamics, knotting, heat-related dubcon, suggestions of prior sexual trauma.
Summary: It's a harsh world if you're an omega, and all hunter women are. Jo and Ellen each find their own ways of coping and their own partners to do that coping with.

Fics listed by internal chronology. All fics available for download here.

The Woodsman and the Widow - Ellen/Rufus. 1500 words. PG-13. (DW | LJ | AO3)
At Bill's wake, Rufus makes Ellen an offer, alpha to omega. She's too smart not to take it.

These Spooky Old Woods - Jo/Sam. 3600 words. PG-13. (DW | LJ | AO3)
Every so often, Sam and Dean ask Jo to come help them on a case, even though she's an omega. Even though they're alphas, she does.

Too Hot, Too Cold, Just Right - Jo/Sam. 5500 words. NC-17. (DW | LJ | AO3)
An omega doesn’t get to be Jo’s age and still unmated without being very good at making plans. Sam was plan C.

Title: Too Hot, Too Cold, Just Right
Fandom: Supernatural
Pairing: Jo/Sam, prior Jo/Garth, contemplated Jo/Dean
Words/Rating: 5500 words / NC-17
Warnings: Alpha/beta/omega dynamics, knotting, heat-related dubcon, suggestions of prior sexual trauma. Very AU.
Summary: An omega doesn’t get to be Jo’s age and still unmated without being very good at making plans.

A/N: written for the [livejournal.com profile] a_b_o_ladies Het/Femslash ficathon. This follows my genfic These Spooky Old Woods but should stand alone reasonably well. It helps to know that alphas and omegas are rare and secret and have magic, and they refer to the rest of the population as "Normals."

Much thanks to [personal profile] verity, who read this all first and suggested I instead title it "Too Hard, Too Soft, Just Right." (I said no.)

Plan A was Jo’d spend her heat with Garth, like she has every six months for a couple of years now. )

Title: These Spooky Old Woods
Fandom: Supernatural
Characters: Jo, Sam, Dean, a wee bit of Jo/Sam
Words / Rating: 3600 words / PG-13
Warnings / enticements: References rape and sexual harassment. Alpha/beta/omega AU. Very AU. With magic. Hurt/comfort.
Summary: Every so often, Sam and Dean ask Jo to come help them on a case, even though she's an omega. Even though they're alphas, she does.

A/N: You guys, I should just never try to write to a prompt again. I started this for someone over at the kink meme who asked for het a/b/o, any pairing, and I said, "Hmm, I always write alpha females with omega!Sam/Jared; let's do something else." Somehow the result is this, which is indeed SOMETHING ELSE. And also basically gen. /o\

Unintentional and quite possibly unrecognizable influences include McKinley's Sunshine and [livejournal.com profile] honeylocusttree's The Girl from Outside.

Sam and Jo, they talk now. )

Title: i would rather start a family than finish one
Fandom: Supernatural
Characters: Jo-Dean friendship, Jo/Sam in the background
Words / Rating: 1700 words / PG-13 for language
Warnings: Discussion of abortion
Summary: Jo's pregnant with a baby she isn't sure she wants, and Dean offers her an out she'd never have expected.

A/N: Originally posted over at [community profile] spn_bitesized, which is a DW-based SPN commentfic comm. New prompts every week, old prompts good indefinitely, and the responses have to fit in one comment, which is nicely limiting. It's a very nifty comm, basically.

I actually wrote the first half of this several months ago, but the comm's slew of baby-themed prompts this week inspired me to finish it. It takes place in some reasonably happy AU future and is possibly a distant sequel to Returning Prodigals Are Last Year's News. Title from "A Roach of the Taverns," by Don Marquis (hence the lack of capitalization).

Jo couldn’t tell Sam; he was running errands. )

1. I don't think I'm doing Yuletide this year. I love it, I encourage everyone else to do it, but I think I don't have the energy for it this year, myself. I just now, with Seasonal Spuffy, have finished the last of my fics with deadlines, and I still owe fics to a number of other people, including (but possibly not limited to?):

* Harvelle fic for Eilowyn
* potato ricer fic for [personal profile] ghostyouknow
* SeaQuest fic for Eowyn (I am soooo sorry, hon. I haven't forgotten!)
* something Giles-Buffyish for general Giles fen on my flist, although I may unilaterally decide that the Faith-Giles winterfic counts instead. :)
* others? If I owe you a fic and it's not here, tell me! I want to write you fic!

Anyway, point being: deadlines are stressful right now, and I just don't think I can do Yuletide justice this year. Alas. Also, there's nothing I desperately want to request, and I wanted to offer Twin Peaks yet I still haven't finished the series. And finally, I have fic projects of my own that I care about more this time around.

But I shall cheer you all on!

2. Without warning, Sam/Jo is now my SPN OTP. No, I don't know how this happened. I just think they have the potential to be functional together and good for each other, that they could meet each other as equals in ways almost no other potential pairing in this fandom could. I just, I like them. So there.

3. Speaking of, there is now more of the mpreg sequel to [personal profile] ghostyouknow's Sam/Jo plantfic. 'Tis here, 'tis called Diaspores (hee), and 'tis dark and angsty and cracky as all heck but, you know, good. In fact, it is quite possibly the best plantbaby mpreg fic ever. And it is for meeeeeee.

4. AO3 was being a pain this week. It's better now, but for a while I kept getting errors every fifteen minutes or so. You're supposed to be better than LJ, AO3! *shakes fist*
