hockey things

* This week has been Death by Sidney Crosby. First we have all the Tim Horton's ad footage with him and Mackinnon, and then we get 23 glorious minutes of In the Room-type coverage of his hockey school and his hometown. There's so much genuine smiling and giggling in these! It makes me so happy! Also I feel they pretty thoroughly disprove Sidney Crosby: Hockey Vulcan. Like, he may or may not be a goofy weirdo (she says with love), but he clearly is also a guy who has fun and friends and who enjoys people.

* From the preseason games this week we learn:
- Kessel/Crosby/Malkin/Letang can really do some damage vs another team's JV squad. Which isn't to say I wasn't COMPLETELY DELIGHTED by goals from Olli and Phil (TWO OF THEM) and other people.
- I'm not sure if Geno has any goals yet in the preheason, but he has been a beast on the ice nonetheless. I mean.
- OTOH, this team w/out Letang, Maatta, Crosby, and Kessel is kind of unfortunate. Especially those D-guys. STAY HEALTHY, KIDS.

okay, I am doing a hockey thing

A while back I started a Pens 2015-2016 timeline project, which I've now decided to take the flock off of. The goal is to make a timeline of all the news/major events for the Pens in one place for future reference. Things that count as news: games, injury reports, roster transactions, cute photos on Instagram, Sidney Crosby documentaries. Things that don't count as news (unless I happen to feel like it): interviews and profile pieces of players, analysis, speculation.

So if you happen to notice me failing to link to any of those things and feel like dropping me a link, PLEASE DO. I'm going to be tracking stuff I want to link to on my Pinboard, but crowdsourcing this would make it so much better.

And, obviously, feel free to use for your own fic reference. That's what it's there for. :)
